Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal data when you use Lernica — the website lernica.app, the Lernica apps, and related services (the "Service") — as an international customer. For Russian residents paying in rubles, the Russian-language policy applies.

1. Controller

2. Data we process

• Account data: email, name (if you give it), sign-in identifiers (Google, Apple, email).
• Learning data: study language, level, goals and answers you give in onboarding or quizzes, progress, saved words.
• Conversations: messages you type and, in voice mode, your voice audio, processed to transcribe it and generate the tutor's reply.
• Payment data: subscription status and transaction references. Card details are handled by payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
• Technical and marketing data: IP address, device and browser, pages viewed, advertising and campaign identifiers (such as UTM tags and click IDs).

3. Why we use it

• to provide the Service and your subscription, and to keep your progress in sync across the website and apps;
• to generate AI tutor replies, corrections, and explanations;
• to process payments, prevent fraud, and meet accounting obligations;
• to send service emails (for example, sign-in links and receipts) and, where allowed, product news you can unsubscribe from;
• to measure and improve the Service and our advertising.

We process data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in running and improving the Service, to comply with law, and with your consent where it is required.

4. Service providers

• Hosting and storage: Timeweb Cloud.
• AI processing of conversations, speech recognition and speech synthesis: OpenAI, OpenRouter (including Google Gemini models), Together AI.
• Payments: Paddle (international cards, merchant of record), YooKassa (Russian cards), Apple and RevenueCat (in-app purchases).
• Email delivery: Resend. Push notifications: OneSignal.
• Analytics and advertising measurement: Yandex Metrica, AppMetrica, Meta.

These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy terms.

5. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including Russia, the European Union, and the United States, where our providers operate. We use contractual and technical safeguards appropriate to the transfer.

6. Retention

We keep account and learning data while your account exists and delete or anonymise it after account deletion, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, or accounting reasons.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or Armenian law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Write to support@lernica.app; we may need to verify your identity. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No transmission over the Internet is fully secure.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children below the age at which parental consent is required in their country.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy; the "Last updated" date above will change.
